Mt. Kilimanjaro
|
“Kili” is Africa’s highest mountain. Located three degrees below the equator,
the mountain’s towering peaks – Kibo and Mwenzi – are permanently snow-capped.
Treks take visitors through terrain that varies from desert to rainforest to
elevations of between 5,000 and 6,000 meters. Treks can be 5-7 days and
selected based on difficulty. Routes available include Marangu, Machame,
Rongai, Londros and Umbwe. Cost of these treks would include fees for park
entry, rescue, camping (equipment provided), transportation, food, guide and
porters.

|
| Kilimanjaro can be tackled as a one-day hike to the first hut on
the Marangu route or as a week-long trek no matter what your age. Even an
eighty-year-old challenged the summit on the more difficult Londros route. |
