Special 7-Day Kilimanjaro Trekking Tour for Young People (aged 16 - 23 yrs.)

Climb Afrika's tallest mountain (at least part of it), camp out, "Milk a Tanzanian cow!", "Harvest your own dinner salad!" "Run your cell phone with solar energy!".  This is what young people will do on our special adventure trek. 

 

This budget camping safari and Kilimanjaro climb created for young people is NGS's newest offering. It's designed to give youngsters a safe taste of the best of Tanzania's nature and of the unique eco-centre at Mrefu Lodge where a teaching centre supports small-scale sustainable farming.

 

Day 1

Pick you up from Kilimanjaro airport transfer to Mrefu Eco-Lodge for overnight.

 

Day 2

After marvelous breakfast in the wonderful nature of the Kilimanjaro base, a walk around the Mrefu Eco-Farm to learn from David Mtui (Animal Husbandry expert) the farm’s components and produce, landscape and of land conservation in Kilimanjaro with the Chagga tribe. Overnight at Mrefu Eco-Lodge.

 

Day 3

Walk around the Marangu village, visiting the Chagga community and learn their way of life, their proper care of small farms, animals, landscape and unique Chagga cooking styles.

 

Day 4

Leave Mrefu to Marangu gate, register and start the Mt. Kilimanjaro climb through rainforest to Mandara hut overnight 

 

Day 5

Leave the rainforest to Alpine Forest hiking to Horombo hut, dinner and overnight.

 

Day 6

After breakfast descend to Marangu gate via Mandara hut then drive to Mrefu-Eco Lodge dinner and overnight.

 

Day 7

Breakfast, pack, and drive to Arusha Nat. Park with lunch box, full day game drive, then drive to the Airport for depart home. Or optional (additional fees) trip to Zanzibar.
